Mamelodi Sundowns could look to cash in on one of their players in the upcoming January transfer window.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, Masandawana are currently in contract talks with one of their veteran defenders, Thabo Nthethe, but there is yet to be an official confirmation about whether or not the player’s stay will be extended beyond the current 2017/18 campaign.
The Siya crew has since been informed by a source close to the player that a move away from the Chloorkop-based club could be on the cards for Nthethe in the upcoming January transfer window.
The 33-year-old is currently in the final year of his contract with Masandawana and should the two parties not reach an agreement about extending the defender’s deal, Nthethe will be able to sign a pre-contract with any interested suitor come January next year.
However, sources have indicated that Sundowns could look to sell the player in the January transfer window, where the Brazilians will cash in, rather than to lose the centre back’s services on a free at the end of his deal.
Now, it remains to be seen what will be the outcome of the player’s future at the Chloorkop-based club.
