Mamelodi Sundowns To Edge Kaizer Chiefs To Mosa Lebusa… Should He Leave Ajax Cape Town
Mamelodi Sundowns could look to edge Kaizer Chiefs to their Ajax Cape Town target, should the club be open to the sale of their star player.
It was revealed on Soccer Laduma in recent weeks that there has been keen interest in the services of Mosa Lebusa, coming from both Sundowns and Chiefs respectively, with Orlando Pirates also believed to have reignited their interest in the left back.
The player’s representative, Vasili Barbis, confirmed to the Siya crew at the time that Masandawana and Amakhosi were both showing strong interest in the player.
However, it is unlikely that Ajax will be willing to let Lebusa go to one of their PSL rivals, as Head Coach Stanley Menzo looks to maintain the core of his squad as the 2017/18 season draws closer.
Lebusa has been one of Ajax’s most vital defenders and played a key role in the team’s performance last season.
Despite a move away from Ikamva unlikely to materialise for Lebusa during the current transfer window, should Ajax be open to listening to offers for the 24-year-old, Siya sources have indicated that Sundowns will be the frontrunners to land the player’s signature.
Masandawana completed just two signings so far ahead of the new 2017/18 season, with Ghanaian shot-stopper, Brimah Razak and Oupa Manyisa both added to the Chloorkop-based club’s books. However, an official announcement about the completion of Manyisa’s deal is yet to be made by the club.
