Mamelodi Sundowns seem to have over enough cover in their goalkeeping department; however, one of their players could finally be on their way out in the next few months.
Sundowns recently brought Reyaad Pieterse on board with the club following Brimah Razak’s exit, adding the player alongside Kennedy Mweene, Thela Ngobeni and Denis Onyango in the goalkeeping department.

Although there have been numerous reports in the past months linking Ngobeni with a permanent exit from the Chloorkop-based club, however, with another transfer window having passed, the player is still on the books of Masandawana.
Game-time has been an ongoing struggle for Ngobeni, with Siya sources indicating that the 29-year-old is keen to make the move permanent move away from Sundowns, to a club where he could play regularly.
As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Free State Stars are believed to be considering approaching Sundowns in the January transfer window, to possibly secure a six-month loan move for Ngobeni.
Ngobeni is currently in the final year of his contract, which means that he will be allowed to put pen to paper on a pre-contract with any interested suitor come January next year.
However, there is still a possibility that Sundowns could agree to the permanent transfer of Ngobeni in January next year, so as to avoid losing the player on a free on June 30 of 2019.
This means that Masandawana could cash in on a cut fee for the goalkeeper, although it remains to be seen which other interested suitors could come knocking for Ngobeni’s services in the next transfer window.
