Mamelodi Sundowns Striker Linked To Chippa United
The Siya crew has been informed by a source close to the Mamelodi Sundowns camp that one of the Brazilians' strikers could be making the move to Chippa United during the current transfer window.
As reported in previous weeks by the crew, Sundowns are looking to bolster their attacking department as they head into the second half of the 2017/18 campaign, with Masandawana close to concluding a deal for two South American players.
Sundowns currently have one available foreign quota spot on their books following Leonardo Castro’s departure from the club, however, Siya sources have informed Soccer Laduma that Masandawana are looking to free up more space on their foreign quota.
According to sources, Ivorian Yannick Zakri is currently being linked with a move to Tebogo Moloi’s Chippa side, adding that the 26-year-old’s name has been mentioned as a possible new addition to the Chilli Boys in the current January transfer window.
Zakri could be seen as a replacement for Moeketsi Sekola, who has since seen his loan spell cut short with Chippa as he made his return to Highlands Park.
Zakri joined Masandawana during the July/August transfer window in 2016 and despite not being the first choice striker for the Brazilians, the Ivorian has been a regular in Head Coach Pitso Mosimane’s squad.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Chippa will look to finalise a deal for Zakri in the coming weeks.
