Sundowns Agree Deal With Winger
Mamelodi Sundowns Have Agreed A Deal In Principle With An African Winger
Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to have agreed to a deal in principle with an African winger.
The Siya crew broke the news of Sundowns’ interest in Toni Silva following Cape Town City’s pursuit of the player.
The Brazilians subsequently offered the Guinea-Bissau winger a contract at the club, although needing to await the July/August transfer window in order to register the player should they secure his services.
The Siya crew has since been informed by sources in the know that Sundowns have agreed to a deal in principle with the winger, although indications are that there are still things that need to be finalised before the club can confirm the player’s signature.
One of which is their foreign quota that is currently exhausted, with Gaston Sirino, Jeremy Brockie, Soumahoro Bangaly, Ricardo Nascimento and Brimah Razak all occupying the spaces.
Indications are that Sundowns will need to let one of their foreigners leave the club, either transferred out or on loan elsewhere in the new season in order to register Silva to play for the club.
According to sources, Head Coach Mosimane is keen to utilise the 24-year-old in the latter parts of the group stages.
Now, it remains to be seen when Sundowns will make an announcement about the player’s signature.
