A move back to his former club could be on the cards for Anthony Laffor, should he part ways with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Following reports in recent weeks that Kaizer Chiefs have been interested in finalising a deal with the Liberian, SuperSport United are believed to have joined Amakhosi with their interest in the player.
As reported in this week’s Soccer Laduma, issue 1076, a move back to Matsatsantsa for the 33-year-old could be sealed during the July/August transfer window.
Laffor’s name is said to be among those on the list of players earmarked for a move to Matsatsantsa a Pitori, in what is expected to be a rebuilding campaign for the club after winning only nine league games out of the 30 played last season.
“SuperSport are interested in reuniting with Anthony Laffor. Sundowns don’t have a problem with allowing the player to further his career elsewhere. Expect SuperSport to try and re-sign the player in this transfer window,” said the source.
It was after his successful stay of three-and-a-half years with SuperSport that Laffor was signed by Downs, in January 2012.
With the experienced player no longer enjoying game-time under coach Pitso Mosimane, who is spoilt for choice with an array of stars in his squad, Laffor could finally see his successful spell at the club coming to an end.
