Sundowns Coach Linked With SAFA Post

Mamelodi Sundowns’ MultiChoice Diski Challenge coach, David Notoane, is believed to been touted for a possible role within the South African Football Association.
Notoane is no stranger to the national team setup having worked with Amajita in the past, and word reaching the Siya crew is that his name has been mentioned with regards to a role in some capacity at the association going forward.
The 49-year-old has been doing a solid job for Sundowns as the head coach of their MDC side, and he has pedigree within SAFA having led Amajita to victory in the Commonwealth Cup back in 2015.
At this point in time it remains to be seen what role SAFA see for Notoane if they do decide to bring him back, however with qualification for the Africa U23 Cup of Nations coming up next year – with a chance to reach the 2020 Olympics up for grabs – he could be seen as a good option for a position with the U23s.
There has been plenty of speculation with numerous roles within SAFA going forward, and the Siya crew will continue to keep tabs on the situation as South Africa’s senior and youth teams look to try and progress over the coming months.
