Mamelodi Sundowns are close to concluding a deal for a Zambian striker who recently started training with the club.
The Siya crew reported in October this year that Sundowns were expected to finalise a deal to sign Lameck Banda from Zambia, who was training under the watchful eye of Pitso Mosimane and his technical team.

The crew has since been informed by a source in the know that the club and the player’s camp are close to agreeing to terms and concluding a deal for the player, however, will need to wait until the upcoming January transfer window to finalise other parts of the agreement, including the player’s registration, in order to conclude the transfer.
Masandawana will need to free up space on their foreign quota before the striker can be registered to play for the club.
The Brazilians currently have Leonardo Castro, Bangaly Soumahoro, Fares Hachi, Yannick Zakri and Brimah Razak in their five foreign quota spots.

Indications are that Castro could be making way for Ricardo Nascimento, who made his return to Sundowns, which means that one more foreigner could also be heading for the exit in the upcoming January transfer window.
Now, it remains to be seen what changes Head Coach Pitso Mosimane will make to his squad and foreign quota and when the club will conclude the deal.
