Sundowns Use Tau Cash To Submit Mahlambi Offer
Word reaching the Siya crew is that Mamelodi Sundowns have submitted an offer to Al Ahly using the money that they brought in via the sale of Percy Tau.
It has previously been reported that Masandawana were keen to try and land the winger on a loan basis from the Egyptian giants, although their plan of attack now seems to have changed.
According to Siya sources, following the sale of Tau to Brighton & Hove Albion in England, the Brazilians are eager to bring in Mahlambi as his replacement and are prepared to splash the cash in order to bring him in on a permanent basis.
Masandawana have had a busy transfer window as they brought in the likes of Jose Ali Meza, Toni Silva, Andile Jali and Lyle Lakay, while it is thought that they are not done yet as they target the likes of Mahlambi, Mosa Lebusa and Lebogang Manyama.
It remains to be seen how much Ahly will want if they’re to let go of Mahlambi – a player they signed only last year from Bidvest Wits – although they will no doubt be looking to at least get some form of return on their investment in the 20-year-old Bafana Bafana international.
The crew will continue to monitor Mahlambi’s situation to see whether Sundowns can submit a bid that will be accepted by the Egyptian powerhouse.
