The Zimbabwe international will see his contract with Downs expire at the end of the 2017/18 season and while he has been offered an extension at the club, he has not yet put pen to paper on the new deal.
Downs’ lost 1-0 to Cape Town City in their final game of 2017 and following the league outing, Coach Pitso Mosimane briefly touched on possible player movements at the club, including Billiat.
The coach explained that the decision lies with the 27-year-old, and as it stands, he is yet to confirm where he will be playing in the 2018/19 campaign.
Billiat has been linked with a move abroad since last year, while Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City are all keen on adding the player to their roster.
However, according to Siya sources, Downs have made a new offer with the aim of securing his services beyond the current season. It is believed that Billiat nets under R100 000 a month on his current deal, and does not make as much money as the top earners at the club.

It will take a good financial offer for Downs to convince the player to stay. Ramahlwe Mphahlele left Sundowns to join Chiefs, after he received a better financial package at Naturena, compared to what Downs were offering.
Downs will not want to lose another of their stars to a PSL rival, as was the case with Mphahlele.
