Billiat Out Of Action, Contract Talks Underway?
Mamelodi Sundowns Are Looking To Once Again Try And Secure Khama Billiat's Signature
Khama Billiat has been out of action for Mamelodi Sundowns for quite some time now, while Siya sources have indicated that there may be contract talks taking place behind the scenes.
Sources at Sundowns previously revealed to Soccer Laduma that Billiat is currently nursing an injury, although the club is yet to confirm the physical condition of the player.
The Zimbabwean has not featured in any of Sundowns’ CAF Champions League clashes, nor the Nedbank Cup competition, with his last appearance dating back to Masandawana’s Absa Premiership clash against SuperSport United on February 24.
However, as reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, it seems that there may be contract talks underway, with sources revealing that Sundowns could be giving in to Billiat’s demands.
Indications are that Masandawana are looking to meet Billiat’s requests in order to secure the player’s services beyond the current 2017/18 campaign.
Billiat’s contract will come to an end on June 30 this year and with the player being eyed by the likes of Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and outfits abroad, Sundowns would want to try one last time to tempt the 27-year-old to commit his future to the club.
As reported in the past, Billiat turned down a new contract with Sundowns, as sources revealed at the time that he was unhappy with the financial aspects of the deal.
