One of Cape Town City’s star players has attracted interest from abroad, with the club’s chairman unaware of the demand for the player’s services.
As reported in the past weeks by the Siya crew, both Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have shown a keen interest in Edmilson Dove, with the defender having established himself as a key player in Head Coach Benni McCarthy’s side.

In addition, it was revealed in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, that undisclosed clubs in Turkey, France and USA’s Major League Soccer, have been showing interest in the 24-year-old’s services.
However, despite the news come from a source close to the player, City’s chairman, John Comitis revealed that he was unaware of the interest in the player.
Dove recently put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at the club, with indications that City won’t be too keen on losing the player’s services, unless the right offer comes along, or if it made good business sense.
However, City, who were crowned 2018 MTN8 champions, are currently focusing on improving their league form and indications are that they will not want to unsettle their camp in the upcoming transfer window.
Although, with football being an unpredictable sport, it remains to be seen what whether the Mozambican international will remain at the club in come January next year.
