After vacating his coaching position for former Baroka FC coach Kgoloko Thobejane, ex-Ajax Cape Town and Orlando Pirates player Lizo Mjempu has confirmed his new role at third tier league club Passion FC.
Following the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League team’s exit from the Nedbank Cup, after their loss to GladAfrica Championship side Real Kings, Thobejane has been brought in to help at the Mpumalanga outfit.
Mjempu has confirmed his new role at the club after passing on the baton to the ex-Bakgaga coach.
“After our exit in the Nedbank Cup, I thought that it was only proper for me to hand over to someone else, as we have also not been getting the results like we wanted to in the league,” Mjempu told the Siya crew.
“The club decided to give me a new position as the technical director. I accepted the offer and a new coach (Thobejane) has been brought in. The change will benefit me as it will allow me to be able to focus on furthering my coaching studies,” the former left-back added.
