Ajax Cape Town are set to free up space on their wage bill, however, at the same time want to continue bolstering their squad for the new season, having now welcomed a former Cape Town City striker to the club.
Siya sources have revealed that former City and Platinum Stars striker, Letsie Koapeng has started training with the Urban Warriors today, July 31.
The Urban Warriors will be campaigning in the National First Division next season, after withdrawing their application to interdict the start of the league and their section 18 applications, which would have made Judge Denise Fischer’s ruling effective immediately if accepted.
Judge Fischer ruled that Advocate William Mokhari’s award of docking points from Ajax, be set aside.
However, the PSL was granted leave to appeal this ruling, with Ajax consequently giving up their fight for top-flight football next season.
Ajax CEO, Ari Efstathiou on Friday confirmed that they will be freeing up space on their wage bill, meaning that the Urban Warriors are set to complete transfers of some of their key players.
On the other hand, as they look to bolster their squad at the same time, Head Coach Muhsin Ertugral is set to make a decision on the likes of Koapeng, Sibusiso Khumalo, Keletso Makgalwa who are training with the club.
