In one of his best matches of the 2019/20 season, Sera Motebang scored two goals as Bloemfontein Celtic defeated Kaizer Chiefs in the bio-bubble in August, and the Lesotho international striker has now been rewarded with a new deal at the Mangaung outfit.
Despite still having one year remaining on his two-year contract that he signed when he joined Celtic last year from Lesotho top-flight club Matlama, Motebang has had one year added on his deal and his terms improved, this as confirmed by a source close to the Free State club.
“Celtic has reviewed and extended the contract of Sera Motebang. That means we will see him staying with the club for three years,” confirmed the source.
Motebang has previously attracted interest from Orlando Pirates, but with the new deal in place Siwelele want to ensure that the 25-year-old remains in the team for longer to contribute to the progress of the club.
“This (the extension of the contract) is after the good performances he had on the last league games of the past season. I think everyone saw him. So, the club reviewed the previous contract. The boy has also been called up for the Africa Cup of Nations match against Benin which will be on the 14th of November in Benin,” the source added.
