Leonardo Castro Leaves Chloorkop
Leonardo Castro has said his final goodbyes to Mamelodi Sundowns, with Siya sources confirming that the player has stopped training with the club.
It was confirmed on Saturday, December 16, that an agreement between Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns has been met for the transfer of Castro to the Soweto giants.
The Siya crew then reported this morning that the Colombians move to Chiefs was a straight sale, after Amakhosi turned down Sundowns’ attempts at proposing a potential swap deal.
Masandawana were looking to lure Chiefs’ Gustavo Paez to the Chloorkop-based club and in return would transfer Castro in the opposite direction.
However, a move for Paez to Sundowns in the January transfer window has since been ruled out, with the Venezuelan set to remain with Amakhosi where he will likely form a striking partnership with Castro in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.
