Mamelodi Sundowns are currently discussing a potential swap deal which involves Leonardo Castro, in order to land the services of one of their transfer targets, this according to Siya sources.
As previously revealed by the Siya crew, Sundowns are believed to be keeping a close eye on Kaizer Chiefs’ Gustavo Paez, as Head Coach Pitso Mosimane is eager to find the missing piece of the puzzle in his attacking department.
Paez’s contract with Chiefs is set to expire at the end of the 2018/19 campaign and there is no doubt that Amakhosi will not want to lose the player’s services to one of their Premier Soccer League rivals.
However, sources have since informed the crew that a potential swap deal involving Sundowns’ Castro is currently being mooted, with the Chlookop-based club now showing more intent to land the services of Paez.
As reported in recent months, Siya sources have revealed that Castro, whose in the final year of his contract, could be heading out the exit door at Sundowns in the upcoming January transfer window period, with it highly unlikely at this point that the player will put pen to paper on an extended deal with Masandawana.
Although, it seems that Masandawana want to avoid losing the player on a free at the end of his deal and according to Siya sources, the club has been discussing a potential swap deal in order to lure Paez to Chlookop, while Castro goes the opposite direction.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Sundowns will indeed look to propose a swap deal to Chiefs in the upcoming January transfer window period.
