Ernst Middendorp could receive a boost going into this weekend’s Absa Premiership game, with one of his forward’s expected to be back in contention once again.
Leonardo Castro has been almost ever-present for the Glamour Boys this season, missing only a handful of games as he went on to score some important goals for the club while leading the line.
He was, however, left out of the squad for the 1-1 draw with Polokwane City over the weekend, though no explanation was given for his absence as the club went on to go three league matches without a win for the fourth time this season.
It is thought that the 29-year-old forward may be back in contention this weekend though, with the Colombian believed to have recovered after being taken ill in the build-up to the clash with Rise and Shine.
Chiefs need to get a result against Highlands Park this weekend if they are to keep up any hopes of mounting a title challenge as the season draws to a close, while a defeat could even see them drop out of the top eight completely.
With that in mind, Middendorp will be eager to have as many of his big players available as possible, and he will be hoping that Castro is indeed ready to make his return to the squad.
