Contract Wanted As Ex-Bucs Star Continues To Impress
Lehlogonolo Masalesa has been a key figure in the resurgence of Black Leopards under the tutelage of Dylan Kerr, and now Lidoda Duvha are eager to try and avoid losing him.
The 26-year-old former Orlando Pirates midfielder has played seven games for the club since joining in January and is yet to lose a game in 90 minutes as he helped the team climb out of the relegation zone and towards the top 10.
‘Vieira’ has only featured in one defeat since his arrival – he was missing for the losses to Bloemfontein Celtic and Mamelodi Sundowns – and that was the weekend’s Nedbank Cup exit via a penalty shootout following another solid Leopards performance.
The Siya crew has been informed that the midfield man only signed a short-term deal in Thohoyandou when he put pen to paper earlier in the year, and could potentially leave on a free transfer at the end of the season if Leopards don’t tie him down.
Following a string of good showings for his current club, it is likely that there would be a number of potential suitors chasing ‘Vieira’ if he was available as a free transfer, and it is thought that Leopards are eager to try and make sure that doesn’t happen.
As things stand though, Masalesa’s contract will expire at the end of June and potential suitors could well be sniffing around.
