Lebogang Manyama Wants Out Of Cape Town City?
Lebogang Manyama has once again indicated his desire to leave Cape Town City as he looks to take the next step of his professional football career.
It was revealed on Soccer Laduma last week Friday, July 28, that Manyama informed City that he is keen to move on from the Cape Town-based club and Mamelodi Sundowns would be his preferred destination according to Siya sources.
City is currently underway with pre-season training, with their first match of the season scheduled to take place next week, August 12. City will host Polokwane City at the Cape Town Stadium in the quarter-finals of the 2017 MTN8 competition.
Siya sources close to the player’s dealings have revealed that the 26-year-old has set his mind on a move away from City, with another source indicating that the midfielder is focused on trying to secure a move to Masandawana in the current July/August transfer window.
With Head Coach Benni McCarthy still looking to make the necessary adjustments to his squad for the new season, it seems as if the 2016 Telkom Knockout champions will have to prepare for the new season without the services of Manyama according to sources.
However, as previously reported by the Siya crew, Chairman John Comitis has maintained that the 2016/17 Footballer Of The Season is not for sale, although it was revealed that the club has reportedly slapped a €1 million (+/- R15 million) price tag on the player’s services.
Now, it remains to be seen whether the Chloorkop-based club will look to approach City for Manyama in the coming weeks.
