Free agent Mogakolodi Ngele started training with one of the top sides in Gauteng on Friday, the Siya crew can reveal.
The Botswana international can now join any club of his choice after leaving Marumo Gallants last month in pursuit of finding a new challenge, and indications are that Swallows could be a possible destination.
Ngele, sources at the club said, was part of the group taken through their paces by coach Brandon Truter, but it is not clear whether the player’s camp has opened talks with the Dube Birds yet on making sure the attacker is added to their squad.
With the 2021/22 season just a few weeks away, Swallows are working tirelessly behind the scenes to beef up Truter’s team in the hopes that the coach can improve on their sixth place finish in their maiden DStv Premiership campaign.
Swallows confirmed the arrival of Khethukuthula Ndlovu from GladAfrica Championship side Uthongathi a week ago, and are also in high level talks with Mamelodi Sundowns over the possibility of as many as five players (see gallery below) joining them.
It will become clearer close to the start of the new season how Swallows shape up, but Siya sources have indicated Truter will be given quality signings – and Ngele could very well be one of them, though he is bound to attract interest elsewhere if he is not tied to a contract soon.
