Mngonyama To Replace City Captain ?
Kwanda Mngonyama Could Be Replacing Cape Town City's Captain At The Club
Cape Town City have announced their first new signing ahead of the January transfer window, with Siya sources indicating that one of their key players could be making a move away from the Mother City-based club.
As reported by the Citizens earlier this morning, the club confirmed that they have agreed to terms for the transfer of Mamelodi Sundowns’ Kwana Mngonyama.
The crew has since been informed that the addition of Mngonyama to the squad could be to strengthen their defensive department after Siya sources indicated that Robyn Johannes is being linked with an exit from the Mother City-based club after it was revealed that the club have not come to terms on a new deal for the player.
Johannes is currently in the final six months of his contract at City and despite his invaluable contributions to the team, indications are that the 31-year-old could also be making the move away from City in the near future.
Sources have added that Bidvest Wits are showing keen interest in the player as Head Coach Gavin Hunt looks to continue bolstering his squad.
Now it remains to be seen what decision will be made on the immediate future of Johannes, although indications are that Mngonyama has been added to their books to provide cover to Head Coach Benni McCarthy’s defensive set-up.
