Khama Billiat has turned down an offer from one of Egypt’s biggest football clubs.
It was reported earlier this week that Zamalek were preparing a big-money deal for Billiat’s signature, reported to be $700,000 to $450,000 (approximately R9.5 million to R6.1 million), according to Zamalek.tv.
However, according to the player’s representative, Mike Ngobeni, Billiat has turned down the offer form the North African giants, indicating that he may have set his heart on a move elsewhere.
“Yes, he has turned down Zamalek’s offer,” Ngobeni told the Siya crew.
It was reported earlier today on the Soccer Laduma website that Billiat could be one of the big name signings unveiled by Kaizer Chiefs in the coming hours, as they are expected to make an announcement about incoming players.
Chiefs were known to be keen on Billiat for quite some time and according to Siya sources, the Soweto giants are keen on pulling off a last minute deal for the player’s signature.
Billiat will see his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns come to an end this month, on June 30.
