An exit from a DStv Premiership club has been confirmed for a midfielder who has since signed a deal abroad as he looks to further his career in the 2021/22 season.
After his unsuccessful stint with Marumo Gallants since the Limpopo outfit failed to register the player for the current campaign, Kenyan midfielder Michael Ovella Ochieng has left the club.
As confirmed by a close source, the 21-year-old has left Mzansi to sign a deal with Township Rollers in Botswana.
“Michael Ovella Ochieng has officially parted ways with Marumo Gallants and has signed with Township Rollers in Botswana,” confirmed the source.
“There has been interest in the PSL but by the time the clubs that showed interest, (expressed) seriousness, he had already agreed on a deal with Township Rollers. Township Rollers is a big club in Botswana and Ochieng is confident of bouncing back with them after his disappointment at Marumo. Also, it is easy to get other offers from other big clubs elsewhere when a player plays for Township Rollers as they are a team that sometimes play in the CAF Champions League and that’s why it wasn’t difficult for him to decide to join the club,” the source added.
