A Kaizer Chiefs youngster is said to have attracted an interest from Bloemfontein Celtic under their new head coach Steve Komphela, according to sources.

The Siya crew has been informed that Mpho Khumalo could be set for a trial at Celtic, as Komphela will be looking at assembling his 2018/19 season squad for the Mangaung outfit.

Khumalo, 21, spent last season with Mthatha Bucks in the NFD, having been loaned to the club by Chiefs.

“Mpho Khumalo has attracted interest from Bloemfontein Celtic. He is likely to join the club for their pre-season training,” said the source.

During his time as the head coach at Amakhosi, Komphela once had Khumalo training with Chiefs’ first team from the club’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge team.

It remains to be seen if the player could finally get a chance for PSL football with Siwelele in the new season. According to the source, the player will be a free agent as of June 30 and will be eligible to join any team on a free.
