Chiefs Attacker Out For The Season
Kaizer Chiefs' William Twala Has Been Ruled Out For Maritzburg United
Kaizer Chiefs attacker, William Twala, has been ruled out for the rest of the season, dealing a blow to Maritzburg United’s CAF Confederation Cup ambitions.
The 28-year-old joined the Team of Choice back in January on loan from the Glamour Boys as he went in search of more regular game-time, playing five times for the Team of Choice as he helped them move up the league table in 2018.
Twala will have been hoping to possibly secure a permanent transfer to Maritzburg at the end of the season, although his chances could have been dented following his injury.
It has been confirmed to the Siya crew that Twala has suffered a stress fracture on his shin bone that will rule him out for four to six weeks, meaning that the only game he has any chance of playing in this season would be the Nedbank Cup final if his side manage to make it past Mamelodi Sundowns.
According to Chiefs, Twala signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Chiefs back in 2015 when he joined from Chippa United, with his contract then due to expire at the end of the current season.
Maritzburg will face Baroka this weekend as they look to try and extend their lead over their fourth-placed rivals from Naturena.
Should Twala return to Chiefs?
