What Happened To Chiefs’ Forgotten New Signing?
He said he joined Kaizer Chiefs to ‘make his mark’, but nearly nine months later Letlhogonolo Mirwa is still waiting for his debut for the Glamour Boys.
The left back has fallen massively down the pecking order after being given runouts in preseason games such as the Maize Cup and Shell Helix Cup, and instead spent his time playing in the Multichoice Diski Challenge for Chiefs rather than the senior side.
Now, as he approaches his 24th birthday, Mirwa looks to have the likes of Happy Mashiane, Philani Zulu, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya and even Teenage Hadebe ahead of him in Ernst Middendorp’s plans, and it doesn’t look like he will break into the first team any time soon.
Siya sources have explained that the forme Buya Msuthu man has not been training with the first team for some time now, while he has seen players such as Mashiane, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Njabulo Blom go from MDC to Absa Premiership matchday squads in 2019 so far.
Do you think Mirwa has a future at Kaizer Chiefs?
