Kaizer Chiefs Up Against Mamelodi Sundowns And Pirates For Mosa Lebusa’s Signature
Kaizer Chiefs is up against tough competition to land the signature of Ajax Cape Town’s Mosa Lebusa, with Mamelodi Sundowns already having approached the Mother City-based club for the player's services.
Soccer Laduma reported earlier this month that Sundowns and Orlando Pirates could be in a tug of war to land Lebusa’s signature in the upcoming July/August transfer window, with Siya sources revealing at the time that the CAF Champions League winners already approached the Urban Warriors.
Pirates first showed interest in the player two seasons ago and have since renewed their desire to try and lure the player to their camp.
However, according to Siya sources in the know, Amakhosi are not willing to lose out on the defender without a fight.
The Glamour Boys were heavily linked with the player last year, however, their offer for Lebusa was reportedly rebuffed at the time.
Now, Chiefs look to once again approach the management of the Urban Warriors, as they begin making the necessary adjustments to bolster their squad for the 2017/18 season.
Chiefs currently have Sibusiso Khumalo and Tsepo Masilela on their books, however, there are indications that the Soweto giants are still eager to boost their defence, including the left back position.
However, while the club has cover in the position, Chiefs are aware that Lebusa can be utilised in the left midfield and with the uncertainty of George Lebese’s future at the club, Amakhosi might look to use Lebusa as reinforcement in the middle of the park.
Lebusa is currently contracted to Ajax and like all interested suitors, clubs will have to make an offer to the Urban Warriors during the upcoming July/August transfer window and indications are that there might be a bidding war on the cards.
