Kaizer Chiefs could look to add a former Mamelodi Sundowns utility player to their books, with the player having recently parted ways with the Chloorkop-based club.
The Siya crew reported earlier this week that the Brazilians released Mzikayise Mashaba from his contract at the club after the player was found guilty of misconduct.

Mashaba had just under 12-months left on his contract with Downs at the time. His deal was expected to expire next year, on June 30, however his final months with the Chloorkop-based club were cut short.
Now, Mashaba, who is currently a free agent, will be looking to find his next footballing home, while making his recovery to full fitness following an injury to his foot.
The 28-year-old was recently linked with both Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, with sources since informing the crew that Amakhosi could look to pounce on the player and land him on a free.
The Glamour Boys are yet to fill the void left by George Lebese, who has since joined up with Sundowns, and with their new recruit, Philani Zulu, being utilized in the left-back position, indications are that Chiefs could look to bring in Mashaba to Naturena, where he will add cover to their left-attacking department.
Tim Sukazi, who is a well-known footballing agent in Mzansi, has established a business relationship with Chiefs and previously oversaw Mashaba’s footballing dealings, with Siya sources suggesting that Sukazi could look to broker a deal with Amakhosi for the player.
