Chiefs Lose Out As Coach Chooses Al Ahly?

Kaizer Chiefs may have lost out on one of their potential coaching choices after Patrice Carteron reportedly opted to instead join Africa’s most successful club.
Egyptian website, KingFUT, explained last night that the 47-year-old Frenchman had agreed to terms with the African giants, with an announcement now imminent as he finalises matters with his current employer, Phoenix Rising.
The Siya crew had previously reported that the Amakhosi had earmarked Carteron as a possible option as Steve Komphela’s replacement at Naturena as they look to try and get themselves back to winning ways, however, his wage demands are believed to have caused a stumbling block.
Chiefs are thought to have now narrowed their list of candidates down to three names – including Avram Grant – as they look to try and get a deal over the line in order to not affect their pre-season, although have been very coy on confirming any of their potential suitors.
Carteron is no stranger to African football having won the CAF Champions League with TP Mazembe and returns to Egypt after a stint with Wadi Degla back in 2016.
