Siya sources have indicated that Kaizer Chiefs are believed to have shown an interest in landing the services of a Mamelodi Sundowns’ goalkeeper.
Chiefs’ number one, Itumeleng Khune has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season following a shoulder injury, with indications that the Soweto giants are now more than ever, eager to bolster their goalkeeper department.
According to Siya sources in the know, Thela Ngobeni’s name has been rumoured around Naturena to be a possible addition in the current January transfer window.
Ngobeni has been linked with a move away from Sundowns for quite some time now, although, the player is nearing the end of his contract at the club.

The 29-year-old will see his stay with Masandawana come to an end on June 30, this year, with the shot-stopper free to put pen to paper on a pre-contract with any interested suitor.
However, indications are that Amakhosi are looking at the possibility of bringing Ngobeni to the club in the current January transfer window, although, will need to approach Sundowns with an offer for his services.
If Sundowns let the player go, the club will cash in on a cut fee, rather than lose the player on a free at the end of his deal.
Contacted for comment, the player’s representative, Mirko Agnelli was unreachable at the time.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Chiefs will intensify their interest in Ngobeni in the coming days.
Ngobeni is no stranger to Amakhosi, as the player is a product of their youth academy, having come through the ranks in 2008.
