Chiefs Say No To Castro, Paez Swap Deal
Kaizer Chiefs Say No To Leonardo Castro, Gustavo Paez Swap Deal
Siya sources have revealed to Soccer Laduma that Leonardo Castro’s move to Kaizer Chiefs is a straight sale despite Mamelodi Sundowns’ attempts at a potential swap deal.
It was previously revealed by the Siya crew that Sundowns were looking to propose a swap deal to Amakhosi, that would have seen Castro join up with the Soweto giants and Gustavo Paez head in the opposite direction.
Head Coach Pitso Mosimane is believed to be an admirer of the Venezuelan striker, however, a move to the Chloorkop-based club in the January transfer window has since been ruled out.
Siya sources have revealed that Amakhosi have turned down Sundowns’ attempts at a potential swap deal, with Castro’s imminent move to Chiefs since being confirmed as a straight sale.
Head Coach Mosimane has since shifted his focus elsewhere, as he looks to find his next best man in front of goal and a direct replacement for their outgoing Colombian striker.
The club has since been linked with two South American strikers, Gilbert Alvarez and Gaston Sirino, with a deal for the duo expected to be finalised in the coming weeks.
