Chiefs Preparing Offer For Sundowns Star?
Kaizer Chiefs Preparing Offer For Sundowns Star
Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be preparing an offer for one of Mamelodi Sundowns' star players in the hope of luring him to Naturena in the upcoming January transfer window period.
As reported in recent times, Themba Zwane's existing contract with Sundowns will be coming to an end next year, June 30, however, the player's representative previously confirmed to Soccer Laduma that the two parties were in talks about extending the 28-year-old's stay beyond the current 2017/18 season.
However, an official announcement is yet to be made by Sundowns, indicating that the club and the player's camp could still be in talks. As a result, the Siya crew has been informed by sources in the know that Chiefs have been monitoring Zwane's situation with keen interest and are busy preparing to offer the player an attractive personal package in order to lure him to Naturena, should the player not have his contract extended with Sundowns.
Sources have added that Chiefs view the player as a potential successor to Siphiwe Tshabalala who is currently on the other side of 30, indicating that the team does not have any other natural playmaker of Tshabalala's calibre.
However, at this point the final decision rests on the shoulders of Zwane, who will have to decide whether or not to commit his future to Sundowns or look to move on from the Chloorkop-based club, although it is clear that Head Coach Pitso Mosimane will not be happy about losing one of his key players to a PSL rival.
