Kaizer Chiefs could be involved in a swap for players with a newly promoted Premier Soccer League club.
Having already lost out on the services of Meshack Maphangule, who has been one of the transfer targets for Chiefs in this off-season, Amakhosi are believed to be considering signing players from other players from Black Leopards.
As reported in edition 1077 of Soccer Laduma, there is talk in the local football fraternity that Chiefs and Leopards could be involved in a swap deal, with the likes of former Orlando Pirates striker Mwape Musonda, as well as Joseph Mhlongo said to have made it onto the list of transfer targets for the Soweto giants.
“Chiefs is interested in some players from Black Leopards. The two players that have attracted interest from Chiefs the most are Joseph Mhlongo and (Mwape) Musonda. Leopards won’t have a problem in selling to Chiefs, as long as it is going to be a fair deal for both parties. There are players from Chiefs that Leopards will be keen to sign.
“Kgotso Moleko and Edmore Chirambadare are some of the players that could be made available for a move from Chiefs to Leopards in a swap deal,” said the source.
While Chiefs are yet to appoint their new head coach, following the exit of Steve Komphela’s exit, the club today announced the release of William Twala, Edmore Chirambadare, Sibusiso Khumalo, Tsepo Masilela and Keagan Buchanan.
The Soweto giants are understood to be negotiating behind the scenes to make wholesale changes to their playing squad.
