News reaching the Siya crew is that Ayabulela Konqobe has been spotted at Kaizer Chiefs, with indications that the club could look to sign the former South African youth international.
It is believed that the player is on the verge of parting ways with the Chippa United, and it seems that his next destination could be the Amakhosi. The Siya crew recently reported that the defender could be forced out of Chippa, with the player and club not agreeing on his contract negotiations.
The 22-year-old has been linked to both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates in the past and came close to making a move to Gauteng before he signed for Chippa from AmaZulu.
However, it now seems that he could become the first signing under the club’s new mentor, Giovanni Solinas.
Chiefs have already confirmed the signings of Khama Billiat, Letlhogonolo Mirwa and goalkeeper Virgil Vries, and while they have been linked to a host of other players, Konqobe could be their next signing.
The Cape Town-born player has had a fairly decent campaign with Chippa in his first ever PSL season, with 17 league starts during the 2017/18 season.
The player is still left with two years on his contract with the Chilli Boys from the three-year deal he signed with the club when he joined them last year from Thanda Royal Zulu (now Richards Bay FC), which means that he will need to agree on a termination with Chippa before leaving, or transfer fee will need to be agreed to.
