As previously reported by the Siya crew, Chiefs are keen on Lebohang Maboe’s services, although sources have indicated that Maritzburg have put a hefty price tag on the 23-year-old’s services, preferring to sell him overseas or to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sources have since revealed that Amakhosi are now looking elsewhere, having identified Deolin Mekoa as a transfer target ahead of the new 2018/19 campaign.
Mekoa was on the verge of completing a move to Sundowns last year, although the deal appeared to have been squashed, with the Bafana Bafana international rather opting to put pen to paper on a new contract with the Team of Choice.
However, it seems that the player is yet again being eyed by one of the big three clubs in the Premier Soccer League, although it remains to be seen whether Amakhosi will approach management at the KwaZulu-Natal-based club for the player’s services.
