Chiefs Set Sights On Maritzburg Star
Kaizer Chiefs Have Set Their Sights On Another Maritzburg United Player
Kaizer Chiefs have set their sights on another Maritzburg United star after missing out on signing Evans Rusike from the Team of Choice.
It was reported in past months that Chiefs were keen on bringing Rusike to Naturena, although previously had their offer rebuffed by management at Maritzburg.
With Rusike having made the move to SuperSport United in January this year, Amakhosi have been sniffing around elsewhere in the Team of Choice’s camp.
According to sources, Chiefs have identified Lebohang Maboe as a future addition to their squad, with the forward also being one of Maritzburg’s key players.
The 23-year-old has played in every fixture for Head Coach Fadlu Davids this season as they look to stay afloat in the top four of the Absa Premiership league standings, possibly still in the race for the title.
However, it seems that based on their performances, certain Maritzburg players have attracted interest elsewhere, with Maboe’s name the latest one being whispered in the corridors at Naturena.
The player still has one-year left on his contract with the Team of Choice and it remains to be seen whether Chiefs will look to approach Maritzburg for Maboe’s services in the upcoming July/August transfer window.
