Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be sniffing around the possibility of bringing a Mamelodi Sundowns player to the club, though only if he becomes a free agent. This according to Siya sources.
With the January transfer window set to open in just over a months' time, the Soweto giants have been linked with several players in the Premier Soccer League.
As reported over the past months by the Siya crew, sources have revealed that Chiefs have shown interest in the likes of Reeve Frosler, Edmilson Dove, Sinethembe Jantjie, Gabadinho Mhango and Rodney Ramagalela.
However, in recent news, sources have revealed that Chiefs are believed to be keeping a close eye on Toni Silva’s situation at Sundowns.
As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Silva is being linked with an early exit from the Brazilians after falling down the pecking order at the club.
Sources have indicated that a return to Europe could possibly be on the cards for Silva, however, clubs in South Africa, including Chiefs and Cape Town City, are keeping a close eye on the Guinea-Bissau international and could pounce on the player should he become a free agent.
Silva has shown signs of his talent at Sundowns despite suddenly falling out of favour and it remains to be seen whether he will make the move back to Europe in January or if a move to Chiefs could be on the cards when his contract comes to an end on June 30.
Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro are some of the players who have made the move from Sundowns to Chiefs and it remains to be seen whether Silva could be the next player to move over to the Soweto giants.
