How Chiefs’ Went After Their New Attacking Target…

Kaizer Chiefs made sure they had scouts at the COSAFA Cup this year, with one player having caught their eye enough to see them offer him a long-term deal.
Andriamirado ‘Dux’ Hasina Andrianarimanana impressed for Madagascar in Polokwane as he went on to be crowned as the Player of the Tournament, and – as reported in this week’s Soccer Laduma – the Amakhosi wasted no time in spotting his talent.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder, who plays for Fosa Juniors in his home country, is believed to have been approached by a representative of Chiefs during the competition, with the club wary of letting him be snapped up by another interested party.
Siya sources have suggested that a deal is almost done, however, the fact that he is a foreign player means that any potential move would be subject to him securing a work permit to play in the Absa Premiership.
Chiefs currently have one foreign spot remaining at the club alongside those of the likes of Gustavo Paez, Leonardo Castro, Teenage Hadebe and Edmore Chirambadare, although the latter could open up another space if – as expected – he makes an exit from Naturena before the start of next season.
