Chiefs Identify New Target As Lebusa Nears Downs Switch
Kaizer Chiefs have switched focus in their hunt with a left back, with the club seemingly having given up on trying to sign Mosa Lebusa from Ajax Cape Town, identifying a new target.
As reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, it is thought that Chiefs are considering a move for Cape Town City’s Edmilson Dove, with the Mozambique international having impressed in City’s colours last season.
The Amakhosi have identified left back as a crucial position that they need to bolster, and with Lebusa likely to join Sundowns now, they’re hoping to pick somebody up from elsewhere.
Assistant coach, Patrick Mabedi, recently said, “I think, for now, we have one position that we are looking at… Left-back needs some attention, but we want to give credit to our players – they really played well bar the two mistakes that led to conceding the two goals. I’m happy, otherwise, with the overall picture and the outlook going forward.”
Meanwhile, the club’s football manager, Bobby Motaung, confirmed Mashaba’s presence recently, saying, “We have Mzi with us for training while the Technical Team have a look at him. We will see how it goes and a final decision on him will be made in due course.”
Which left back Solinas will actually end up using next weekend when the league gets underway remains to be seen, however they have just four weeks now before the transfer window comes to a close.
