Chiefs Back In For Zimbabwean International?
Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be back in the running for Zimbabwean defender, Teenage Hadebe, as they seek to bolster their backline for the new season.
The 21-year-old has been linked with the Amakhosi for some time now after he spent a spell on trial with the club last year, however, moves failed to materialise after his trial or in the January transfer window that followed, despite constant rumours.
Hadebe, who was in Zimbabwe’s African Cup of Nations squad, has been playing for Chicken Inn, the former club of Michelle Katsvairo and Edmore Chirambadare, and the Siya crew has been informed that he is still on Chiefs’ list of potential signings.
As reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, Hadebe could be brought in to add to Steve Komphela’s defence ahead of the new season, although the necessity has been admittedly lessened after Erick Mathoho and Lorenzo Gordinho were tied down on long-term deals.
The crew tried to make contact with Kaizer Chiefs’ Corporate Communications Manager, Alpheus Vina Maphosa, for comment on their reported interest in Hadebe, however, he hadn’t replied at the time of going to print.
