Reports Tout Serbian As Chiefs' Komphela Replacement
Kaizer Chiefs Are Reportedly Targeting Nikola Kavazovic
According to reports coming out of Botswana, Township Rollers’ Serbian head coach, Nikola Kavazovic, is in the running to replace Steve Komphela at Kaizer Chiefs.
There has been plenty of talk of late regarding the future of Komphela at Naturena, with his contract expiring at the end of the season and the fact that he is yet to win his first trophy at the club.
Names such as Luc Eymael and Doctor Khumalo have been bandied around when it comes to Komphela’s possible replacement, but it now appears that Kavazovic’s name is the latest one that has been put into contention.
Weekendpost.co.bw in Botswana reports that the Serbian – who recently guided Rollers to their first ever CAF Champions League group stages – is being monitored by both Chiefs and Free State Stars, the latter presumably in case Eymael himself leaves for Soweto.
The website says that, despite the interest, Rollers are prepared to fight for the 42-year-old, and will not be letting him leave lightly, especially given that he has a contract until 2019.
The Siya crew has sought to contact Kavazovic – who has worked in Serbia, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Laos and Bangladesh – however, have had no response at this time.
