Kaizer Chiefs have started their 2018/19 Absa Premiership season with a poor defensive record, with the Soweto giants yet to record a win after three games, and yet to keep a clean sheet.
Indications are that one of Chiefs’ biggest problems is their defence, having conceded five goals in the Absa Premiership so far.
The Soweto giants so far have the worst defensive record in the Absa Premiership, alongside the likes of Maritzburg United and Polokwane City.
In their centre-back department, Chiefs are currently rotating between Eric Mathoho, Daniel Cardoso, Siyabonga Ngezana, with Teenage Hadebe yet to make an appearance in the new campaign.

According to sources in the know, Amakhosi are looking to possibly recall Lorenzo Gordinho back from his loan stint with Bloemfontein Celtic.
The 24-year-old was sent on a one-year loan stint to Siwelele in January and now sources have revealed that Amakhosi are looking to welcome Gordinho back to the club earlier than scheduled, eager to bolster their defensive department.
However, sources have added that Celtic are eager to hold on to Gordinho, despite the act that Coach Steve Komphela is at the helm. Gordinho fell out of favour under Komphela at Chiefs which resulted in the player being sent out on loan.
A source was quoted saying that the odds of Gordinho returning to Chiefs early are 50/50 at this point in time.
“At this point with Lorenzo Gordinho, it is 50/50 with regards to staying at Celtic or returning to Chiefs,” a source close to the player told the Siya crew.
Now, it remains to be seen whether the defender will make a return to Chiefs before the window closes on August 31.
