Amakhosi Make U-Turn On Mabedi?
Kaizer Chiefs may not have their head coach decided for next season after Steve Komphela’s exit, however, it does appear that they have their assistant coach sorted.
There had been suggestions recently that Patrick Mabedi could be following Komphela out of the exit door at Naturena before the 2018/19 season got underway, although it now looks as though that will not be the case.
As reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, it is thought that Chiefs want Mabedi – who acted as interim after Komphela’s resignation - to help oversee the transition at the club for whoever comes in as their new head coach, with the former captain having an in-depth knowledge of the Glamour Boys and their DNA.
Several names have been linked to Chiefs in recent months regarding the vacant head coaching position, although none of them has been officially confirmed by anyone at the club. One thing that has been confirmed though, is the exit of Brian Baloyi.
Chiefs are due back for pre-season in under two weeks now, and the club will no doubt be eager to fix the situation regarding their technical team in time for when the club get back to business in preparation for the new campaign.
Who do you think should be Chiefs’ new head coach?
