Kaizer Chiefs have been keeping track on yet another Bidvest Wits player, while Vincent Pule edges closer to his move to Naturena.
As confirmed by the player himself in local media, Pule put pen to paper on a pre-contract with Amakhosi this year, which will see him join up with the Soweto giants as a free agent at the end of the season.
However, according to sources, Chiefs are looking at potentially adding another Wits player to their books.
Gabadinho Mhango has been a transfer target for Amakhosi in the past and sources have since revealed that Chiefs are still keeping an eye on the player.
Mhango has struggled to cement his place in Head Coach Gavin Hunt’s starting line-up, with the 25-year-old below Lehlohonolo Majoro and James Keene on the pecking order.
With the player approaching the final year of his contract with the Students, indications are that he will look to take his immediate future into consideration.
Should Mhango be eager to seek game-time elsewhere, Wits could look to possibly negotiate a loan move for the player in the upcoming July/August transfer window, or even a sale, so as to avoid losing the player on a free at the end of next season.
If Chiefs look to intensify their interest in the player, Amakhosi could approach the Students in the upcoming transfer window.
With Wits known to bulk up on all positions in the team, it remains to be seen whether they will be interested in losing the striker’s services to their league rivals.
