Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be keen on holding onto the services of one of their midfielders, despite the player recently been linked with an exit.
It has been reported in the past that Hendrick ‘Pule’ Ekstein could be amongst the players who are set to exit Naturena, however, Siya sources have indicated that the player’s circumstances may have changed.
Ekstein will see his contract with Chiefs come to an end on June 30 of 2019 and according to sources close to the club, Chiefs are looking to hold on to the 27-year-old’s services until the end of his deal.
Amakhosi have recently appointed Giovanni Solinas at the helm of the team, with the Italian entrusted with the responsibility of bringing silverware back to Naturena.
Prior to Solinas’ appointment, Chiefs have released a few players from their books, with the likes of Keagan Buchanan, William Twala and Tsepo Masilela all having since moved on from the club.
Despite talk of other possible adjustments that could be made to the squad in the coming days, sources have indicated that the technical team views Ekstein as part of their plans for the new 2018/19 season.
