Shonga, who joined TTM at the start of this season after parting ways with Orlando Pirates, is said to have caught the eye of Egyptian giants, Zamalek while still on the books of Pirates, who he joined in 2017.
The crew previously reported that Portuguese outfit SC Maritimo were tracking the player, but a move failed to materialise at the time.
It appears that Shonga is still held in high regard abroad as the crew now understands that Zamalek are preparing an R8 million offer for the 24-year-old, who could make a move up north during the January transfer window.
Zamalek narrowly lost out on the CAF Champions League title to a Pitso Mosimane-led Al Ahly and are reportedly keen on bolstering their squad with the addition of Shonga for the new season, in which they plan to mount yet another title charge.

“It is a sensitive period, which is the window period and I do not want to prejudice him by name-dropping where it has the potential to affect certain conversations that have been going on. There is more than one club internationally that have shown interest,” Mathang explained.
Shonga has featured six times for coach Joel Masutha’s side this season and has scored one goal and made one assist, as he looks to replicate the form that saw him being recognised as one of the top strikers in Africa.
Shonga was among the 22 players unveiled by TTM this season:
