With at least two Absa Premiership clubs said to be considering making technical team changes, a Slovakian coach is linked with a new role in Mzansi’s topflight.
As reported in edition 1136 of Soccer Laduma, the name of Slovakian coach Josef Vukusic has come up for a possible role at either AmaZulu or Black Leopards.
It is believed that the AmaZulu management have not been entirely happy with the team’s progress so far this season, having lost both their Absa Premiership matches against Bidvest Wits and Polokwane City respectively.
The KwaZulu-Natal team is at the bottom of the log with coach Cavin Johnson having become increasingly under pressure to deliver the results or risk losing his job.
Indications from sources is that Vukusic is one of the coaches earmarked for a role at Usuthu, should the Durban-based club decide to make technical team changes at some stage this season.
The Siya crew revealed on Tuesday that Leopards coach Lionel Soccoia could become the first coaching casualty of the 2019/20 season, with the Limpopo club believed to be flirting with the idea of replacing the Frenchman just two games into the new season.
Having led Polokwane City to a fifth place finish on the Absa Premiership log last season, before he resigned from his coaching position at the end of the campaign, Vukusic has emerged as a favourite to join any club that will be in need of a coach as a replacement this season.
The Slovakian coach has previously expressed an interest in continuing with his career in Mzansi.
