Player + Cash: Sundowns Close In On Brockie
Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to finalise a move for Jeremy Brockie in the coming days, with Mogakolodi Ngele believed to be a part of the deal as it nears completion.
The Siya crew reported last night that Masandawana and Matsatsantsa had come to an agreement regarding the transfer of the 30-year-old forward, with only the finer details of the deal now required before it can go through.
According to Siya sources, Ngele is set to join SuperSport on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season in addition to a monetary amount that will be paid by the Brazilians to their Tshwane neighbours.
As reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, it is thought that the cash component and the Ngele loan deal Downs are offering is worth in the region of R12 million and that it could be enough to see Brockie at Chloorkop.
Brockie has 54 goals in his three years in South Africa, easily the best goal return of any player in the league within that same period, and Pitso Mosimane has long been a fan of the New Zealand international.
Orlando Pirates were also in the race to land Brockie’s signature, but it now looks incredibly likely that he will be playing his football in Masandawana colours before the month is out.
