Brockie Settles SSU Issues, Could Return
Jeremy Brockie Has Settled His Issues With SuperSport United
Jeremy Brockie is believed to have settled his differences with SuperSport United after the drama of the transfer window and could feature against Maritzburg United this weekend.
The 29-year-old New Zealander was one of the hot topics in South Africa in recent weeks as the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs all expressed an interest in his signature, however, SuperSport were determined to stand firm.
Even when the Kiwi handed in a transfer request, the club rejected it and told him that he would be staying where he is after signing a new long-term deal the year before in 2016.
Now, as reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, the Siya crew has been informed that there has not been a breakdown in the relationship between Brockie and head coach, Eric Tinkler, and there is a chance that he may be back in the squad for this weekend’s MTN8 semi-final.
While Sundowns may well rekindle their interest in the New Zealander once the January transfer window opens up, it is thought that Brockie now has his heart set on trying to score the nine goals needed to reach 58 goals at the club.
58 goals would be a club record, making him their top scorer of all time, taking over from the late Abram Raselemane, who currently holds the record with 57 strikes.
